Creating the Perfect Product Photo Details
Ever wonder how a product photographer captures the perfect flames in a fireplace or autumn leaves blowing in the wind? Many product shots are actually composite creations — the best parts of several photos blended together to achieve the desired effect.
For this Neutrogena ad, Walden creative director Edgar Mendoza placed the products in a sink and poured water on them each time he took a photograph. After capturing 30 shots using a variety of angles and lighting techniques, he cut out the most dynamic splashes from the best photos. These were then digitally melded together in Photoshop. The resulting composite image is picture perfect!
