Product Photography Challenge:
Glass & Chrome on Mirror Base
Alcove Editions needed product photos of their unique Art Deco desk lamps for use in various promotional materials.
We took a photograph of their gun metal (black pearl) lamp, with the light turned on, and used it to create a superb magazine ad. The photograph at right shows a daytime version of the stunning chrome lamp.
It was critical that we capture all aspects of the lamp's design, from the top engraving, to the bottom feet. But, with multiple layers of reflective clear glass and chrome, this is one of the toughest product photography assignments possible.
We nailed it! We shot the lamp on a mirrored surface with a variety of lighting effects. We then combined the images in Photoshop, to perfectly capture the lamp's beauty.
