Package Design for Hardware Product


The president of CanSolv asked Walden to design the packaging for a new consumer product they were about to launch. Their natural penetrating oil provides superior lubrication, and is safer than competing petroleum products such as WD-40.

Together, we brainstormed possible product names and concluded that CanLube reflected its ability to lubricate, its origin in Canada, its Canola base, and its development as part of the CanSolv product line.

We designed a logo that showed both its natural origin and its primary purpose (loosening rusted bolts). This was used as the basis for an inexpensive two-colour label design in both English and French.
