Sports Competition Logo Design
Competing against over 1000 logo designers, Walden multimedia artist Ho Yin Siu was one of five finalists in the 2009 East Asian Games Emblem Design Competition.
The East Asian Games is a major event in Hong Kong, featuring twenty-one different sports. Ho Yin chose to represent windsurfing because the first-ever Olympic gold for Hong Kong came from windsurfing champion Lee Lai-Shan.
The red in the logo reflects many of the flags from East Asian countries. The illustration was initially created using a Chinese brush. Ho Yin then digitally modified the striking design using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
